How to Help

There are many ways that you can support our service members and contribute towards making one or more Quilts of Valor ®:

ü         Volunteer at one of the monthly meetings – no sewing skills required!  You can choose to iron, cut fabrics, assemble pieces for the quilters, plus many more fun tasks … but of course, you can always sew, too!

ü        Pick up a pre-assembled packet to sew at your convenience at home – simply sign out one or more of the kits at the Crafty Threads Quilt Shop and return it when completed

ü        Make a pillowcase for a presentation package.  Use only good quality, 100% cotton red, white and blue fabrics, please.  No childish prints.  Contrasting bands for the top are great.  See a really good tutorial at this site:

ü        Volunteer to longarm quilt.  If you are a longarm quilter,  we have tops, batting and backing waiting to be quilted.  Your skills are always welcome.

ü        Groups may make their own quilts to be donated (please follow all of the Quilts of Valor Foundation guidelines).  We will donate quilts on your behalf to the James A. Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, FL.

  1. Thank you Kathy for all your hard work on creating this blog to let the people of the Greater Tampa Bay area know what we are doing for our active military personnel.

Thank you Barb for letting us meet at Crafty Threads.

Most of all thank you to my fellow CT Quilters for donating your time and energy and monetary donations for this cause.

We welcome any donationations of 100 % cotton red, white or blue fabrics or new and packaged (to allow us to maintain as germ free for the recipient)cotton/poly 80/20 batting twin size or larger. These donations allow us to continue to make as many quilts as possible.

Continue to review our log as we make progress and deliver the quilts.

    Thanks,

    Pat - CT Quilter
